   Cause of his death was cerebral hemorrhage.

Unknown Wisconsin newspaper: "Edgar Hass, chief radioman in the U.S. Navy air corps, expects to leave next Monday for Norfolk, Va., for reassignment, after spending two weeks her with his mother, Mrs. Emma Hass. He will be accompanied by his wife who has been visiting here for the past seven weeks, Chief Hass has been in the Navy nearly 16 years and his furlough is the first at home in nearly two years. During the past two years he has been on active duty in Iceland and for the last six months has been in combat duty from North African base. The trip home was made by Army transport boat in seven days without incident. He has a brother Oscar who is a second class machinist attached to a ship with the Atlantic fleet." April 29, 1943.
